  1. International Animation Day is celebrated on 28 October every year.
  2. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh celebrated Shaurya Diwas at Old Air Field, Srinagar. The Shaurya Diwas marks the 75th year of induction of the Indian Army to save the state of Jammu and Kashmir from Pakistan’s invasion in 1947.
  3. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh dedicated to the nation 75 infrastructure projects built by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) across six states and two Union Territories (UTs).
  4. Rajasthan government has appointed the state police’s intelligence chief Umesh Mishra as the next Rajasthan Director General of Police.
  5. The Indian Navy is hosting the 29th edition of the Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise (SIMBEX) form 26-30 October, 2022 at Visakhapatnam.
  6. UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly arrived in India on 28 October, 2022.

  9. Gujarat has achieved 100% household tap connections under Jal Jeevan Mission and has been declared a ‘Har Ghar Jal’ state.
  10. Centre approves Terai Elephant Reserve in Uttar Pradesh. It will cover a 3,049 sq km area and will be developed in the joint forest areas of Dudhwa and Pilibhit tiger reserves located in the Lakhimpur and Pilibhit districts.
  11. Union Minister for Railways Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated India’s first Aluminium Freight Rake-61 BOBRNALHSM1 at Bhubaneswar Railway Station in Odisha.
  12. Union MoS for Rural Development Faggan Singh Kulaste on 28 October inaugurated the ‘Saras Food Festival – 2022’ in New Delhi.
  13. Indian Air Force (IAF) and French Air and Space Force (FASF) are participating in a bilateral exercise named ‘Garuda VII’ from 26 October to 12 November, 2022 at Air Force Station Jodhpur.  
  14. Dr Srivari Chandrasekhar, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, inaugurated the 1st ASEAN-India Start-up Festival (AISF) on 27 October, 2022 in Bogor, Indonesia.  
  15. The ambassador of Iran has been excluded from the 2022 Nobel Prize ceremony in Stockholm because of ‘the serious and escalating situation’ in the country.
  16. Dr Rajesh Ranjan, an IFS Officer of 2001 batch, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire.
